The church located at the corner of East 29th Street and Park Avenue, Paterson, NJ, was dedicated in 1888 and is an important part of our city’s architectural and cultural heritage.

This structure is in imminent danger of destruction. The property has been acquired by a developer who intends to demolish the church to construct a 4-story residential building containing 36 apartments.

The proposed development is incompatible with the existing character of the surrounding neighborhood, which consists primarily of one- and two-family homes. Such a large-scale structure would negatively impact traffic, density, and quality of life for current residents.

I urge you to take action to protect and preserve this historic building.
